While the expectations for Alberta Main Street are high and we must also keep them realistic. To do this each of our committees and the Board are working to develop short (6 month) and long (12-18 month) term work plans. As these plans are developed they will be posted here.
We anticipate some of our short term (by June 30, 2011) accomplishments will include the following:
PROMOTION COMMITTEE
- Create a District Promotion Work Plan – including branding, website design and image placement
- Host one Retail Event with the specific purpose of attracting customers into the businesses
- Host one Special Event with the specific purpose of bringing people into the commercial district to have fun
ORGANIZATION COMMITTEE
- Establish a short term funding plan and a long term sustainable organizational fund development strategy
- Establish a volunteer program to support the work of the committees
- Ensure ongoing communication
DESIGN COMMITTEE
- Develop a District Design Work Plan as a precursor to Design Guidelines
- Based on Design Plan, identify process, select and implement District Improvement Project
ECONOMIC RESTRUCTURING COMMITTEE
- Conduct a feasibility study to inform a Sustainability Plan.
- Develop a District Sustainability Work Plan
- Based on the Sustainability Plan identify process, select & implement Green Grant
- Prepare a baseline market analysis of the target area and maintain up to date market data
BOARD
- Based on community input adopted a vision and mission statement
- Obtain independent 501(c)3 IRS designation
- Develop a 5 year strategic plan
