Earth Day District Clean Up
On Saturday – April 23, 2011 from 10AM – 2PM over 100 people helped Alberta Main Street launch the new clean street program, picking up litter and removing graffiti. In keeping with the spirit of the neighborhood, it was more than just a day of litter removal. Prizes were awarded at the Golden Garbage Awards and all participants received a special thank you gift from Alberta Main Street! The new trash/recycling receptacles were on display at the event.
Shop Local Shop Late Alberta shops stayed open late every Thursday between Thanksgiving and Christmas 2010 encouraging residents and visitors to support our local small businesses. Local businesses, the Alberta Street Business Association and the Willamette Week made the campaign possible at a moments notice!
Community Visioning Session On Monday November 29, 2010 92 people participated in a 4 hour visioning session facilitated by Lauren Adkins from the National Main Street Center. The product of this session is the long-term vision for Alberta Main Street. The conversation identified our community assets, liabilities, challenges and opportunities. The visioning session was generously hosted by the Alberta Rose Theatre.
